Como team cycles over 300 miles for charity

A group of energetic Como employees put their bikes and legs to good use to raise just under £12k for different charities by cycling from London to Paris at the end of May.
The team joined 78 other cyclists to take part in the annual London to Paris Cycle Challenge from 26th - 29th May, covering more than 300 miles.
Having trained in rain, wind, snow and sun since January this year, the team set off at 07:00 on the 26th May to complete the first 100 miles to Dover, where they caught a ferry to Calais. Over the next few days they cycled through rain and sun in the scenic French countryside, stopping at Calais on the first night, at Abbeville on the second night, Beauvais on the third night before arriving in Paris. After four days the tired but high spirited cyclists arrived in Paris, cycling along the Champs d'Elysees to the finish line at the Eiffel Tower. The final stretch proved to be even more challenging as they had to manoeuvre around tourists and thousands of rugby fans on their way to watch the final of the French Top 14. Despite reaching the finish line, the cyclists had to continue on, braving the Parisian traffic to get to their hotel where they were treated to a well-deserved celebratory meal.
Robert Jackson, Como proposals manager said: "This was an amazing event to take part in and after several months of training, it felt incredible to reach the finish line at the Eiffel Tower. A big thank you to all those who supported the team's charities - it has made the whole experience worth it."
The Como team chose to support the following charities: Cancer Research, Cystic Fibrosis Trust, Children's Hospital Trust, Kent Air Ambulance Trust, Help the Hospices and Bowel Cancer Research.
