Elizabeth II Court wins BCO regional award

26/05/2010
The Elizabeth II Court in Winchester has won the refurbished/recycled workspace above 2,000 square metres category at the BCO regional awards. The building, home of Hampshire County Council, was successfully handed over by Mace at the end of last year.
Designed by Bennetts Associates and formerly known as Ashburton Court, the extensive refurbishment project successfully transformed a tired and dilapidated 1960s office block into a modern, efficient and highly sustainable working environment. The project was completed in two main phases between spring 2007 and summer 2009. The 12,600 square metre building has a new entrance, provides a flexible, open-plan office space and incorporates a 200-seat auditorium, meeting rooms, a cafe and restaurant, all laid out around new landscaped courtyards.
Mace has been involved in the project from the start completing viability and feasibility studies, managing the OJEU selection and appointment of a full project team to deliver the ambitious scheme. Mace provided project management of the construction and IT services.
The BCO national awards culminate at the BCO awards dinner which will be held at Grosvenor Park Hotel in London on 5th October.
