Mace risk manager nominated for International Diploma Student of the Year

18/09/2009
Mace risk manager Kelvin Smith, has been nominated for an international student of the year award by the Institute of Risk Management. The nomination is the result of Kelvin's performance in the June exams during which he achieved the highest mark in the risk solutions module.
Delivered by the Institute of Risk Management, the post-graduate diploma offers an entry route to IRM membership. Kelvin has completed the course on a part time basis over the last two years, mainly on the tube to and from work, and he is pleasantly surprised by both the high exam result and subsequent award nomination. He says: "It's fantastic to receive this award, especially as it was so unexpected. It's also a great opportunity to raise our profile as a risk aware organisation."
Kelvin joined the preconstruction team at Mace in early 2009 following a two-year secondment to CLM. Rob Owen, head of preconstruction comments: "Since joining the preconstruction team in early 2009, Kelvin has quickly built up his profile within the consultancy sector and has provided valuable risk and opportunity management services to projects in the public and private sector."
The IRM's annual awards dinner will be held at the University of Warwick on 22nd September.
