Mace Scores On The BSF Framework

12/01/2009
Mace Group has been appointed as lead and technical advisor on the Building Schools for the Future (BSF) framework on both a regional and national basis.
The technical advisor framework is managed by Partnerships for Schools (PfS), which was established by the DCSF to deliver the BSF and academies programmes.
The technical advisor role involves supporting local authorities on all technical aspects of the BSF and academies programmes and includes project management, cost consultancy, procurement and design services. As lead advisor, Mace will provide general advice,
programme management and the management of other advisors appointed onto BSF projects.
Mace has a long-standing record on BSF, having been involved in the programme since its inception. The company has provided support to a number of local authorities, including Manchester and Lewisham, both of whom are building some of the first BSF schools scheduled to open.
Building Schools for the Future is the largest school buildings investment programme, with a stated aim of rebuilding or remodeling every state secondary school in England (around 3,500 in total) and has annual capital investment of £2.5-3 billion.
