Mace Group is proud to be sponsoring young athlete Ryan Scott in his bid to compete in the 2012 Olympic Games. The sponsorship deal was set in motion after Mace CEO and Chairman, Stephen Pycroft met Olympian Jason Gardener MBE at a charity event and was keen to learn how Mace could support an aspiring athlete.

Ryan Scott is being coached by Lloyd Cowan, who is also the coach of 400m Olympic gold medallist Christine Ohuruogu. He is also under the mentorship of Jason Gardener, the Athens 2004 Olympic 100m relay gold medallist.

Ryan Scott said: "I am thrilled that Mace Group are sponsoring me as it will allow me to train full time and focus on my goal of being the best. I want to compete at the 2012 Olympics and Mace's support will help me to get my body in the best physical condition."

Mace Group CEO and Chairman, Stephen Pycroft said: "Mace Group is proud to sponsor such a promising athlete as Ryan. He is a determined and focused young man, which are qualities we greatly admire here at Mace and we will do all we can to help him achieve his dream of winning an Olympic medal."

Jason Gardener adds: "Whilst the best athletes in the UK are able to receive funding and sponsorship as we head towards London 2012, many talented athletes struggle financially to fulfil their potential and continue with their sporting dreams. Mace's commitment in sponsoring developing sprinter Ryan Scott up to the London Olympic Games will enable him to focus, train and compete at an appropriate level where his sporting dreams can become a reality."

Just days after signing the sponsorship deal with Mace Group, Ryan competed in the European athletics under-23 championships where he won gold in the 4x100m relay alongside Toby Sanderman, Rion Pierre and Leevan Yearwood.
