Mace's Kettering town centre regeneration project short listed for prestigious communities award

Kettering's £2.5m marketplace project has been short listed for a Homes and Communities Award (HCA) in the quality of place category.
Mace provided client support on the regeneration scheme, which involved the transformation of the old marketplace by adding water features, public art displays and landscaping.
The marketplace is located in a conservation area within the historic part of Kettering town centre. The space is now a sociable public entertainment area, hosting markets, car rallies and jazz shows, as well as attracting new business and investments.
Since completion, the project has received two regional planning awards from the East Midlands Royal Town Planning Institute and won in the pedestrian environment category at the local New Street Design awards.
