Mayfair project win for Mace

Mace has recently been appointed by development manager Stanhope as construction manager and CDM coordinator to deliver a £28m mixed-use development at 5 Hanover Square.
A Mace team had been developing the preconstruction and detailed design coordination stages of the project for some time, but the scheme was put on hold due to the challenging economic conditions. Following a review by the client and its parent company, the scheme has now been approved and works will proceed.
A formal construction management appointment was signed last month and the Mace team is now mobilised for an immediate start on site. Initial set up is already underway with demolition works scheduled to commence this month.
The scheme is a speculative development that comprises office accommodation, retail space at ground level and five high quality residential units. Situated in the heart of London's Mayfair, the project will pose significant challenges to the Mace team, primarily in terms of logistics and maintaining good community relations.
