Sense secures fifth Further Education College commission

Sense Cost Consultancy has been appointed by the Tresham Institute to provide cost consultancy services on the latest phase of their development and rationalisation programme. Tresham Institute is a College of Further and Higher Education with campuses in Corby, Kettering and Wellingborough in Northamptonshire and The Rutland College in Oakham. Tresham opened a brand new £20 million campus in Kettering in April 2008 and are now pushing forward with plans to redevelop its Corby and Wellingborough sites. Sense has been appointed to work on the project from scheme design through to completion on site.
The scheme will comprise of a new 10,000m2 campus on an existing school site, plus a refurbishment scheme at an existing facility in Corby, a new build extension at their existing campus in Kettering and a new build scheme in the centre of Wellingborough.
Sense's Operations Director in the Midlands John Webb said that he was thrilled at the appointment and looked forward to working with the college on what will be an exciting and challenging project.
The scheme aims to be energy efficient and achieve a BREEAM excellent rating. It will also need to deliver an iconic design that inspires learning whilst ensuring the optimum balance between capital cost, and future running and maintenance costs.
Other consultants in the team include Gleeds as project managers and Bond Bryan as lead designers.
