Information
Mace's proven construction management expertise is once again in demand for an iconic London project for client Land Securities. Our CM team is currently engaged in preconstruction activities on 20 Fenchurch Street, dubbed the 'The Walkie Talkie' on account of its inwardly curving design.
Demolition of a complex 1960's tower building has already commenced on site. The new building will have 36 floors with a height of 165 metres and 680,000 ft2 of office space. The building will have unusual curved facades on all elevations.
Work is planned to start in late 2007 with shell and core completion in November 2010, and occupation is anticipated by mid 2011.
As the site is in a restricted city area, Mace is providing preconstruction expertise to help put in place logistics strategies to ensure the safe delivery of the project.
Features:
- Deep basement construction
- High rise construction
- Congested city site
- Environmental analysis
- Preconstruction report
- Sloping facades
