City Centre Campus
Mace is providing project management services for Birmingham City University's £150m development of its new 37,000 square metre city centre campus. The project team has begun the design work on the scheme with the first phase of the development to deliver 15,000 square metre of shell and core by December 2011.
The new city centre campus marks a major public investment in he Eastside regeneration zone and is just one phase of a wider strategy to consolidate the University campus into three key sites across Birmingham.
The development is fully supported by Birmingham City Council and Advantage West Midlands. It will be at the heart of the regeneration of Birmingham's Eastside and will include fully operational television studios, a library, concert hall, performance theatre, music recital hall, lecture theatres and a learning resource centre. The new site will incorporate cutting edge technologies to enhance the student experience and support business engagement.
Mace has delivered a number of successful projects with BCU in the past, including the New Technology Institute which won a British Council of Offices award in 2006.
