Information

Mace fulfilled a key role as part of the EDAW team that helped to develop the original Olympic master and legacy plans and as part of that team, assisted with winning the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

In September 2006 Mace as part of CLM - the consortium comprising CH2M HILL, Laing O'Rourke and Mace - secured the Delivery Partner contract for the London 2012 Olympics.

The three companies have between them worked on five previous Olympic and Paralympic Games - as well as major UK projects such as Heathrow Airport's Terminal Five. CLM brings to the project a world class track record across sport, transport, the environment, technology and public realm, covering programme and project management, construction and regeneration.

The Delivery Partner is responsible for ensuring the land preparation, infrastructure and venues are delivered to meet the Games requirements, addressing key issues including costs, schedule and health and safety. It is also working with the LDA to deliver equality and diversity, sustainability and legacy targets.

CLM is providing programme management across the entire £8.1 billion capital delivery programme for the Olympic and Paralympic Games, project and cost management for the Olympic Park and integration management for the adjacent Stratford Village and retail development schemes.

The Delivery Partner's own profits are directly linked to meeting agreed performance targets. CLM has been hard at work since its appointment in August 2006 to help the LDA achieve all of its early milestones and to prepare the London 2012 Games site for construction after the Beijing 2008 Games. Mace is exceedingly proud to be a part of the Games' success story.
