Information

As project manager and CDM consultant, Mace is currently working closely with client Phoenix High School to deliver a new 260 capacity sixth form to be housed in a new purpose built facility on the existing site.

The school, in conjunction with the London borough of Hammersmith and Fulham and the Learning and Skills Council (LSC) identified the need to meet the 16-19 agenda and provide an innovative and outstanding educational building for the 21st century. Not always named Phoenix High School, this establishment has seen some major changes over the last few years.

In 2005 the school was then named Hammersmith School and was bottom of the education league tables. It was taken over by Sir William Atkinson as Headteacher. After renaming the school, Phoenix High School, he has now made it ‘outstanding’ according to watchdog Ofsted. Sir William, was knighted last year for services to education and community relations.
