Information
Mace has been heavily involved throughout the reinvigoration of Wandsworths Primary Care Trust (PCT) facilities including the development of a client brief, option appraisal and feasibility study, assisting the client in arranging programme funding and the overall delivery of the programme.
Phase one of the works is valued at £1m spread over 12 sites and Phase two valued at £4.2m spread over 30 sites in occupied and operational premises. Over six months, this £4million makeover will give healthcare services a fresh new look, strengthen infection control and improve disabled access at 35 PCT sites and benefit more than half of all Wandsworth residents.
These works form the second phase of a sixteen month project to upgrade PCT buildings and are expected to be completed in March 2009. Earlier in the year the PCT surveyed all its sites, assessing what refurbishment works were needed. The 1st phase, completed in March 2008, invested £1 million into redecorating six health centres and seven GP surgeries, including Balham Hill and Bridge Lane Heath Centres.
The client and delivery agent for this ambitious Wandsworth tPCT project is the South West London Shared Services Partnership (SWLSSP), a non-profit making NHS shared services organisation set up in 2002 to provide management support for estates, facilities, major capital projects, primary care support and supplies services to the five Primary Care Trusts (including Wandsworth Teaching PCT) in the South West London sector.
