The refurbishment of 268 cottages on a phased basis over 5 years. Sector A included 32 cottages and required the refurbishment and extension of these Grade 2 listed properties to provide DDA compliant bathrooms and kitchens for the tenants.

The works are being completed on a 2 stage design and build basis due to the conservation issues of modernising a model village sympathetically. The use of traditional building materials (e.g. hand made bricks and lime mortar) have been carefully planned into the construction programme.

Sector D completed in November 08, one month ahead of programme. Sectors H & J will commence in January 09. To ensure we set continuous improvement targets we have completed a full team workshop to ensure we learn from Sectors A, B, C and D in both cost and programme. This will be achieved by improved detailing, revised sequencing and from the learning curve achieved.
